Transforming Perspectives
Being stablished in the LORD becomes evident by our response to sudden changes in our circumstances or unexpected world events.
Apostle Paul writes to the believers in the region of Thessalonica encouraging them to remain sober when hearing about bad news or experiencing sudden adversity.  The underlying premise of his letter was to redirect their focus.  In doing so, he expresses for them to “be sober.”  Contextual this phrase means for believers to remain calm and collected instead of overreacting to sudden adversity.
The fundamentals of belief in Christianity is that the LORD Jesus Christ, came, died and is risen and will return again.
Paul reminds  believers that they have been translated in the marvelous light of the truth of God. He encourages them to watch, be alert or sober and to be ready, and not to be swayed or lulled by modern myths of nirvana or scoffers or wise tales.  Rejoice because God is not slacked in his promise regarding the Return of the LORD.

Biblical Principle
Praying always being ready and stable in the truths of God and standing faithfully.
1 Thessalonians 5:5-6 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
Bible References
Be sober remaining steadfast and alert - 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5.
The return of the Lord is certain - 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2.
